Parts Of Me
So I am not going to do that thing everyone does where they pretend someone else is writing their bio for them, while they are actually bragging on themselves anonymously. I don't see the point in it. I am proud of who I am and I am not ashamed to say so.
I grew up in Chicago, Illinois, but thanks to a nasty case of the "we-aint-got-no-money", we ended up in the small township of Freeport, Illinois. Which is where I fell madly in love with Jesus and eventually met my beautiful wife, Elizabeth. And after ten years of ministry, eight years of writing, five years of marriage, and three years of parenting, I am fully aware that I am just scratching the surface of this life God has in store for me!
I have spent the last decade of my life raising Christians, helping the Church to come into its identity as best I possibly can and writing resources to help this generation step into God's design for them. I cannot tell you how excited I am to have you be a part of that journey with me going forward!
More than anything else, I am a husband and a father. I married one of the most beautiful women alive and, together, we are raising two extraordinary young women who we love more than anything else in the world. I love my family and am determined to chase them as hard as I possibly can.
I have been writing for the majority of my Christian walk. I've written everything from non-fiction fantasy to biblical expository. My favorite book so far is The Master Narrative, but I am sure that will change soon enough. After all, I don't intend to get worse at this!
Despite how seriously I take my calling, I refuse to pretend to be someone I am not. Whether I am behind closed doors, or preaching the Word before a congregation, I am the same weird, uncomfortable, opinionated individual. Like me or don't, but I am who I am.
In addition to producing resources for the Church, I have faithfully served the body through worship, small groups, discipleship groups and preaching/teaching for the last decade. Most recently, I started a small House Church and have been enjoying that new journey.
